How does Gmax work?

Gmax is a user-friendly AI short video production tool. Here’s how it works: Gmax will automatically detect the most important moments in your long video, convert them into engaging short videos, add stylish subtitles, and utilize AI technology to ensure that the short videos play smoothly and attract the audience. All you need to do is upload your video to Gmax, and leave the rest for us. If you prefer, you can also use our text-based video editor to manually select the wonderful segments of the video.

What languages are supported?

The supported languages are: Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish and Russian.

What types of video content work best with Gmax?

Gmax works best with speech-based videos as we use text to attract highlights from videos. Content that works well with Gmax includes podcasts, webinars, educational videos, commentaries, interviews, and speeches. We recommend uploading videos longer than 15 minutes for the best results. Please note that videos with background music, blurred speech, accented speech, and poor audio quality may affect AI transcription quality.

How many clips can AI generate?

The number of clips depends on the video’s length and content complexity. Example: A 20-minute video typically generates ~10 clips. Customization: Adjust clip duration settings to influence output:
  • For more clips: Set duration to “<30 seconds” (instead of “Auto”).
  • For fewer clips: Use “60-90 seconds” or “90 seconds-3 minutes”.
Note: Videos under 15 minutes may lack sufficient content for AI processing. In such cases, use the manual editor to create clips.

What are the file size and duration limits for uploaded videos?

The maximum supported file size for a single video is ≤10GB, with a duration limit of ≤5 hours.

What video formats are supported?

We support mainstream formats including MP4, MOV, AVI, FLV, WMV, MKV, MPEG, and others.

How is video slicing priced?

Charges are based on 60-second increments:
  • Videos ≤60 seconds are billed as one increment.
  • For longer videos, each additional 60-second increment deducts 1 Credit (partial increments under 60 seconds are not charged).

What if I run out of credits?

You can upgrade your subscription plan or purchase additional Credits directly through your account.

Can I extract transcripts or subtitles from my video?

Yes! Download subtitles in .SRT or .TXT formats via the editor’s Subtitles section. Full transcripts are accessible in the original video editor.

What if I’m unsatisfied with the AI-generated clips?

Two solutions:
  1. Reclip: Click the “Reclip” button (top-right of the task page) to regenerate new clips.
  2. Manual slicing: Create clips yourself. Learn more: [Video Sizing Guide > Step 2: Using Video Slicing]

Can I publish edited videos directly from Gmax?

Yes! Link your social media accounts (supports TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and publish exported videos in one click.
